Cupcake Fondue Snack Board Putting together a Cupcake Fondue Snack Board is an easy and fun way to celebrate.  Whether it’s for Valentine’s day or another celebration, your family and guests will love dipping their mini cupcakes into chocolate and adding sprinkles! I have lots of other fun Valentine dessert ideas on the blog.  Be sure and check out 20 Valentine’s Day Sweets for your Sweet and and this Raspberry Pavlova is one of my favorites.  If you are a chocolate fan you may want to give this Flourless Chocolate Cake a try.  Find all my dessert recipes here. We love fondue at our house and it’s been a Christmas Eve tradition at our house since I was a child.  I decided that fondue was just too fun to reserve for only Christmas so I put together a Valentine’s Day themed cupcake fondue snack board.  It’s perfect for a party, a family dinner celebration or a romantic night at home. So if you need a last minute Valentine’ party treat this is it.  Not only is it perfect for Valentine’s but it would be great for any party, a birthday party, a baby or bridal shower or just for fun! How to Make a Cupcake Fondue Snack Board Cupcakes – I used a white and a chocolate cake mix to make two different flavors of cupcakes.  You can use your favorite cake flavors. One cake mix will make about 36 mini cupcakes. Chocolate Fondue – For the fondue part, I made a batch of runny frosting.  A vanilla version and a chocolate version.  It is just a combination of powdered sugar, cornstarch, milk and either cocoa powder or vanilla extract. You can heat the fondue but it will make it even thinner.  I just used it at room temperature. Toppings – I pulled a collection of sprinkles, mini chocolate chips and toffee pieces for sprinkling over the cupcakes. The cupcakes are put on skewers and dipped into the frosting or since the “fondue” isn’t hot, you can just use a plastic fork or your fingers to dip the top of the cupcake into the fondue. Then choose your sprinkle! Everyone will have a great time dipping and putting together different combinations. Can I make fondue without a fondue pot? Because we aren’t actually heating or warming the dipping sauce you can use a regular bowl instead of a fondue pot.  The fondue pot is just a bit more fun and looks more interesting on the snack board. Here is a link to the fondue pot I use. One of my favorite parts of having a snack board at a party or gathering is just watching and listening to my guests as they have fun talking and visiting around the snack board as they dip away!
